After months of anticipation, Love Never Dies opened in the West End last night (March 9th 2010) - and it has already received a five-star review.

Paul Taylor of the Independent described it as "phabulous" after watching the musical at the Adelphi Theatre, commenting that it is a mixture of "the heart-stopping and the stomach-lurching".
Although he acknowledged that it was surely difficult for Andrew Lloyd Webber to follow up Phantom of the Opera, the critic said that the theatre mogul has come up trumps with a "seamlessly fluent, sumptuous (and sometimes subtle) production".
Ramin Karimloo as the gruesome Phantom was praised for his ability to range from seductive whispers to full-on, passionate singing, while Sierra Boggess as Christine was also lauded for a voice that Mr Taylor said could knock you dead.
The critic concluded by suggesting that theratregoers make up their own mind about Love Never Dies by buying theatre tickets to see it themselves.
Set a decade after Phantom of the Opera ended, the action in Love Never Dies takes place in New York''s Coney Island, where the Phantom has changed a great deal since he was last seen.
