Emma Cunniffe (The Crucible, Great Expectations) returns as Queen Anne and is joined by Romola Garai (Suffragette, The Hour) as Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough in Helen Edmundson's (The Heresy of Love) gripping play that explores the life of one of England's little known sovereigns who is torn between friendship and duty.

Queen Anne is directed by Natalie Abrahami (Happy Days) and plays for a strictly limited thirteen week season presented by TRH Productions, Scott Landis and Tulchin Bartner Productions.

1702. William III is on the throne and England is on the verge of war.

Princess Anne is soon to become Queen, and her advisors vie for influence over the future monarch. Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough, a close friend with whom Anne has an intensely personal relationship, begins to exert increasing pressure as she pursues her own designs on power.

Contending with deceit and blackmail, Anne must decide where her allegiances lie, and whether to sacrifice her closest relationships for the sake of the country.

2017-08-17 Well acted and interesting plot the the different characters fortunes twisted and turned.
2017-08-17 Excellent acting, production, script. I loved it.
2017-08-16 Thought-provoking, amusing and very well acted. The stage set and lighting were superb and the live music enhanced the period setting. An interesting insight into an historical period which had surprising resonance with the today's political arena. Hugely enjoyable.
2017-08-14 The show was fantastic! A fascinating story and amazing cast.
2017-08-13 Some exciting and penetrating theatre. Invigorating and compelling. Unfortunately the opening narrative lacked clarity and there was one disastrous piece of casting. Still a totally worthwile theatrical experience.
2017-08-11 Wonderful cast and staging. I had read about this period of history and this play brought it to life.
2017-08-08 Interesting subject ,well acted ,a lot funnier than I was expecting.A very enjoyable evening
2017-08-07 Took a while to get into the play. Thoroughly enjoyed it once I had the storyline.
2017-08-06 Great performance! Great venue!
2017-08-05 Really interesting play on a lesser-known part of English history
2017-08-04 Great performance from all the cast, really absorbing and good seats too.
2017-08-03 Wonderful play really enjoyed it
2017-08-02 An unusual production, with a great deal of historically interesting information about a little known queen. I enjoyed the 'musical' bits, which enlivened the play. Good acting and all the actors were very audible! So many plays today are spoiled by the actors not speaking up
2017-07-30 terrific blend of history and drama
2017-07-15 Well written and well acted..
2017-07-09 I didn't know what to expect and really enjoyed it. Especially without much k owledge if the period in question, it was a treat to see the machinery of politics and friendships turning. Emma Cunniffe and James Garnon were a delight. And now I know why it makes sense for Churchill to be born in Blenheim Palace.
2017-07-01 Well written and well presented and acted. Particularly liked the humorous parts which demonstrated the level of political satire very well. The lead actresses were excellent
