Inside moments of true love you can live forever

What is it to really know your own father? Meet Edward Bloom, played by Emmy, Tony and Golden Globe award-winner Kelsey Grammer. An ordinary man, and an extraordinary father. He has always told his son tall tales filled with beauty, love and imagination but when his son confronts him about what is truth and what is fiction, they go on a life-affirming journey that will change them forever.

Adapted from the much-loved book and Tim Burton movie, this brand new musical is directed by Nigel Harman and is set to a beautiful score by Tony nominee Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family, The Wild Party), with a new book by John August (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

Landing at The Other Palace for a strictly limited Christmas season and bursting with heart and humanity, Big Fish The Musical will leave you holding on to your family and friends just that little bit tighter.

The Other Palace officially opened its doors in February 2017, and is a home and breeding ground for musicals at various stages of development. The Other Palace focuses on four key areas: programming, creative use of spaces, musical theatre development and audience engagement. The main theatre is the heart of The Other Palace, where the programme consists of full productions, work in progress productions and festivals of new work. By day the studio is available for composers, librettists, lyricists, directors and choreographers to discover and create new material. By night the space builds on the current St. James Studio model to offer a diverse programme including cabaret, music, musical theatre and crossover acts. The theatre features an open mic bar in the hope that it becomes a genuine hub for anyone interested in the musical.

Big Fish The Musical Customer Feedback

2018-01-05 Great performances across all the characters.
2017-12-21 There were 8 of us and each and everyone thought it was the best show we had ever seen!!! Outstanding! Fabulous performance by the entire cast!! Cannot rate this more highly. We were worried because of the reviews but we think they saw a different show to us!!!!
2017-12-16 Not at all what I was expecting. The story of an older man and his relationship to his adult son. The first act is mainly fun, upbeat, and joyful. The staging and costumes are inventive. The second act took me by surprise with how touching and gentle it is. As I have a father of my own I, along with many others, was weeping and cheering at the end - on our feet. Definitely want to experience this one agian!
2017-12-15 Great collaborative cast. Very enjoyable and interesting.
2017-12-08 It was brilliant. I thought all actors were fantastic. The change of scenery was very clever and so much energy went into the show. Very sad in the end but acted fabulously. A super day out.
2017-11-20 I laughed and I cried - a beautiful show - emotional, touching, poignant performances.
