Nina Raine’s critically-acclaimed ‘modern classic’ (The Times) Consent, makes a timely and triumphant transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre for a strictly limited season.

What is justice, what is vengeance, and which is right? Friends take opposing briefs in a contentious legal case. The key witness is a woman whose life seems a world away from theirs. At home, their own lives begin to unravel as every version of the truth is challenged.

Directed by Roger Michell, Consent takes a searing look at the law whilst putting modern relationships into the dock in ‘a play you’ll be talking about for a long time to come’ (Radio Times).

Age Guidance: 15+

- The Times. "A Modern Classic...a hotly topical play with as much human life as we've seen on the West End stage for a long time".
“Essential viewing. A play you’ll be talking about for a long time to come.” Radio Times.
“Riveting account of imploding metropolitan lives. It couldn’t be more timely.” Daily Telegraph.
Guardian “This bracingly clever, bleakly funny play offers no easy answers to any of its questions: what is justice, what is vengeance, and which is right?”
Financial Times “A vivid, thoughtful and immensely resonant play”
Time Out “Nina Raine’s brilliant... moral thriller... that’s won new relevance in the #MeToo era”

Consent Customer Feedback

2018-08-18 Well thought out story and brilliantly acted
2018-08-12 It was truly amazing!! We loved it!
2018-08-12 Nina Raine's play #Consent, at @HPinterTheatre, is inspired. The writing is so tight, the words hit deeply across a full spectrum of emotion. My thoughts and emotions have been whirled-up since thinking about it. Framed through beautiful stage design and confident acting, full of chemistry, this play offers loud and important conversations in a place with space for them to breathe.
2018-08-12 Amazing production, beautifully acted.
2018-08-10 Outstanding play. A sense of comedy to help you through quite confronting moments of the script. Well cast and a thoroughly enjoyable night out. Top marks!

2018-06-05 The first half was excellent, but the second dragged somewhat, and became a bit tedious. Still worth seeing.
2018-05-30 Great play. Wonder ful cast. Easy ticketing exercise.
2018-05-27 Sight lines in this theatre are always really bad. We were lucky that just before the performance started the couple in front were moved forward ... so a very good view!
2018-05-20 Didn’t expect the twist in the story. Actors were excellent
