The Glenn Miller Story

As his legion of fans already know, Tommy Steele – Britain’s first Rock and Roll Star – made his legitimate debut in 1958 starring in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, which enjoyed a sold out run at London’s Coliseum Theatre. What they probably don’t know is that the inspiration for Tommy’s extraordinary career was an American band leader whose music Tommy had worshipped from the moment he first heard it in his early teens.

And so, 60 years on, TOMMY STEELE returns to THE LONDON COLISEUM to salute his idol GLENN MILLER, in a new musical celebration… Featuring the authentic sounds of In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, Little Brown Jug, Pennsylvania 6-5000, Tuxedo Junction, Chattanooga Choo Choo, and many more… …the life, fame and untimely death of the big band leader whose music defined an era is celebrated in THE GLENN MILLER SHOW.

The Glenn Miller Story Customer Feedback

2018-08-20 A bit slow to start but good fun overall. Shame the theatre was only half capacity. Not sure why an 81yr old was chosen to play the part of someone who died at 42. May have been more popular with a more contemporary lead
2018-08-20 Excellent show, really well staged. Story just right. Singing and dancing great. All cast excellent. Marty Webb fabulous. Tommy Steele an honour to watch, such talent and style. So good I went twice.
2018-08-19 The cast created a warm feeling between audience and actors. All performed their roles well, particularly enjoyed the vocal harmonies. The band did the music proud and delivered an authentic Miller sound leaving the tunes firmly embedded in the head for the rest of the evening. Still enjoying the close of the first act.
2018-08-17 The theatre was brilliant both for vision and sound. Tommy and the crew were absolutely fantastic The arrangement was incredible and the band terrific Myself and my wife thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

2018-08-04 It was great to see Tommy back on stage. I was expecting the show to be a bit like the old movie with James Stewart so was pleasantly surprised to see this new show as a musical.
