Coming to London's West End for one night only as part of Flamenco Festival London, Rocío Molina: Fallen From Heaven tickets are your chance to experience the Olivier Award-nominated Flamenco dancer in her exploration of gender, sex and flamenco itself.
The flamenco that Rocio Molina presents in Fallen From Heaven is both grounded and essential and ethereal and unconstrained. This is a flamenco that can be understood in many ways but that celebrates and acknowledges that flamenco is an expression that we should not seek to tame.
This piece is a journey, a tour of a woman who is guided by her dance. Light, shadow, music and noise bring us to foreign territories. The palpable and that which is normally unseen combine and fight in the body of Rocio. This dance is born from her body and the land and is a celebration of being a woman.
Fallen From Heaven is the transition of a woman from a body in balance to a body revels in its womanhood. The trip will see our souls broken and left in a dense, dark sea before we are raised towards a dark paradise of colour and movement.
Rocio Molina is a Spanish dancer who has won acclaim both in her home country and across the world. In 2018 Rocio Molina received an Olivier Award nomination for outstanding achievement in dance for her piece Fallen From Heaven.
