This classic tells the story of our misunderstood protagonist, poet and intellectual Adrian Mole. Our story has classic themes, teenage angst, family trouble and the inevitable unrequited love. As Mole struggles with dysfunctional parents and a mounting debt to the school bully, and a particularly bad spot on his chin, a new girl moves into the class and his heart. Will Pandora come between Adrian and his best friend? Will Adrian win her heart? Can he ever escape his chaotic home life?
Adrian Mole is one of the most loved comedy characters of all time. Our unfortunate, hilarious, misunderstood teenager captured the feeling of 1980s Britain, and our hearts. Sue Townsend's novel provided the basis for the show which was given its book and lyrics by Jake Brunger with lyrics by Pippa Cleary. The show is directed by Luke Sheppard. Casting for the Ambassadors Theatre transfer of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole has not yet been announced, but you can expect the class register in due course!
