Israelian-French choreographer and two-time Bessie Award winner Emmanuel Gat initially trained to become a conductor before fully delving into contemporary dance. Each of the six dance pieces featured in his latest compilation, Works, is dedicated to a specific composer, one of which is Gat himself. But it's the dancers that represent the true spirit of the show.
Gat brilliantly transports his dancers through a musical dreamscape that juxtaposes unique groupings and formations with the dancers' own interpretations, history, relationships, responses, and idiosyncrasies.
Often invited by the most prestigious dance companies in the world, including Opéra de Paris, Sydney Dance Company, Ballet de Lorrain, Los Angeles Dance Project, Lyon Opera Ballet, Ballet de Marseille, and Ballet du Grand Theatre de Genève, Emmanuel Gat and his sextuple-bill Works at Sadler's Wells is guaranteed to be a triumph this autumn.
