Five flirtatious “French” performers meet you at the door. They bring you in, they show you to your seat, they flirt with you. Maybe they fall a little bit in love with you. Then they tell the story of Don Juan – with you.

Don Juan – the world’s greatest lover, the original master of seduction. He lives big, loves big, fights hard and creates one hell of a mess.

Like a wild dress-up party Don Juan combines theatrical magic, twisted pop songs and explosive wit. The most charming performers you can hope to meet play a revolving repertoire of outrageous characters including their own version of Don Juan.

While delving into themes of boldness, bravery, the ridiculousness of love, the perils of throwing caution to the wind, Don Juan depicts how – despite our best efforts – we often fail to be the impressive person we wish to be.

Created and performed by A Slightly Isolated Dog, this New Zealand theatre company delivers a frantic and hilarious mash-up in the style of Python meets The Boosh. Leave your inhibitions at the door and play.

???? ‘Extremely funny, high energy reworking of Don Juan encourages us all to live and love bigger and better’ – Scotsman

???? ‘Relentless hilarity, fun and frolics with the master of love‘  – The List

????? ‘An anarchic explosion of fun, full of wit and passion‘ – Fringe Guru

???? ‘Very fast, very “French” and very funny – an absolute riot’ – Musical Theatre Review

The UK tour of Don Juan is supported by Creative New Zealand and Access North.

The Other Palace officially opened its doors in February 2017, and is a home and breeding ground for musicals at various stages of development. The Other Palace focuses on four key areas: programming, creative use of spaces, musical theatre development and audience engagement. The main theatre is the heart of The Other Palace, where the programme consists of full productions, work in progress productions and festivals of new work. By day the studio is available for composers, librettists, lyricists, directors and choreographers to discover and create new material. By night the space builds on the current St. James Studio model to offer a diverse programme including cabaret, music, musical theatre and crossover acts. The theatre features an open mic bar in the hope that it becomes a genuine hub for anyone interested in the musical.
