The Festive Season Favourites

Published Thu, 7 July 2022

We know it's only July but with just 148 days until the first of December, the festive season will be upon us before we know it. Tickets are selling fast for the winter 2022 season festive west-end Christmas shows; here are our top three picks.

Dolly Parton’s Smokey Mountain Christmas Carol is set to be an amazing experience at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank centre. The show features an original soundtrack from Dolly Parton. Her beautiful and soulful songs reimagine Dickens’ timeless story, A Christmas Carol.’ Sadly, Dolly herself will not be staring in the show, but we can’t wait to see the amazing cast who are in the show. The shows run from the 8th of December to the 8th of January.

For something super fun for all the family head over to the Dominion Theatre from the 14th of November to the 7th of January for ELF the Musical! Pack your candy canes and green stockings, ready for a fun-filled tale of the charming Elf who found himself in the human world. It's set to be one of those feel-good shows that will make you leave your seat singing and dancing.

Last up, the absolute classic Jack and the Beanstalk is playing at the London Palladium from Saturday 10th December. Staring non-other than Dawn French as Damn Trot and Alexandre Burke as Mrs Blundermore to name a few of the star-studded line-up. The show is back for its seventh season, so if you have missed it so far, now is your chance to grab your tickets quickly.

Whichever show you choose for the run-up to Christmas, remember to book early to find your favourite seat and plan a lovely festive meal for before or after the show. It always turns the theatre trip into a whole day experience for the family. Once we have all packed away our BBQ it's lovely to have something to look forward to and a west-end show is just the ticket!
