West End's 'Ain't Too Proud' Musical Concludes Earlier than Expected

'Ain't Too Proud', the acclaimed West End musical, will conclude its stay at the Prince Edward Theatre on Sunday, 17 September 2023, instead of its previously set closure date on 7 January 2024, as announced by the production team. 

The musical elegantly narrates the exceptional odyssey of The Temptations, the renowned Motown ensemble, from the hustling streets of Detroit to their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The production boasts of popular numbers such as “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone,” “Get Ready,” and “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” and others.

The star-studded ensemble includes Cameron Bernard Jones as Melvin Franklin, Kyle Cox as Paul Williams, Sifiso Mazibuko as Otis Williams, Tosh Wanogho-Maud as David Ruffin, and Mitchell Zhangazha as Eddie Kendricks.

The rest of the talented cast comprises Evonnee Bentley-Holder, Natalia Brown, Ryan Carter, Hannah Fairclough, Christopher Gopaul, Daniel Haswell, Naomi Katiyo, Akmed Junior Khemalai, Holly Liburd, Darnell Mathew-James, Simeon Montague, Posi Morakinyo, Sadie-Jean Shirley, Michael James Stewart, Toyan Thomas-Browne, Dylan Turner, and Kevin Yates.

The show's production sees a reunion of the acclaimed Tony and Olivier Award-winning choreographer, Sergio Trujilio, with the twice-honoured Tony Award director, Des McAnuff. Their past successful ventures include the Tony Award-winning sensation, 'Jersey Boys'.
