Oliver Twist, the timeless tale of the orphan boy who dared to ask for more, is set to grace the West End once again in a revival that promises to capture the essence of its original brilliance. The beloved musical, "Oliver!", adapted from Charles Dickens’ novel by Lionel Bart, is set to return to London's theatrical scene later this year.

Under the masterful direction and choreography of Matthew Bourne, in collaboration with theater impresario Cameron Mackintosh, this new production will first enchant audiences at the Chichester Festival Theatre in July before making its way to the iconic Gielgud Theatre in London.

Mackintosh, speaking on BBC Radio 2, expressed his intent to recapture the intimacy and magic of the original 1960 production, a groundbreaking endeavor that left an indelible mark on musical theater. Bourne, whose illustrious career includes landmark productions, expressed his excitement at directing his first musical, a culmination of his lifelong affinity with "Oliver!" and its East-End roots.

This revival promises to transport audiences back to the heart of Dickensian London, with a stellar cast, breathtaking design by Lez Brotherston, and the unforgettable melodies that have made "Oliver!" a cherished classic for generations. From the iconic "Food Glorious Food" to the stirring "As Long As He Needs Me," the production is set to reignite the passion and nostalgia associated with this timeless tale.
