Multi-award-winning star Cynthia Erivo is set to return to the West End in a bold new adaptation of Dracula, playing at the Noel Coward Theatre from 4 February to 31 May 2026.
Best known for her roles in Wicked and The Color Purple, Erivo will take on the challenge of portraying 23 characters— including the infamous Count Dracula himself—in this one-person production directed and adapted by Kip Williams.
Originally staged at Sydney Theatre Company in 2024, Dracula is the final part of Williams’ Gothic cine-theatre trilogy, following his acclaimed adaptations of The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. His Dorian Gray, starring Sarah Snook, became a critical hit in London and New York and is currently nominated for six Tony Awards.
This new production blends live video, pre-recorded footage, and theatrical performance to deliver a haunting, high-concept retelling of Bram Stoker’s classic novel. The creative team includes Olivier Award-winning designer Marg Horwell, lighting designer Nick Schlieper, composer Clemence Williams, and sound designer Jessica Dunn.
Set in a crumbling castle shrouded in mystery, the play explores themes of desire, fear, and transformation. Erivo will sing one original song in the show, adding a haunting musical layer to an otherwise non-musical performance.
Produced by Michael Cassel and Adam Kenwright, Dracula promises to be a gripping and visually arresting event, with Erivo’s powerhouse performance at its centre. Tickets are expected to be in high demand for this strictly limited run.
