The musical adaptation of Beetlejuice will make its debut in London’s West End beginning May 2026 at the Prince Edward Theatre.

Based on Tim Burton’s iconic film, the show follows Lydia Deetz, a teenager who begins to share her home with ghosts and the uproarious spirit Beetlejuice. The production features a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, with music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect. Direction will be handled by Alex Timbers, known for his work on Moulin Rouge! The Musical and Here Lies Love.

The creative team behind Beetlejuice promises a high-energy, visually arresting production. Choreography is by Connor Gallagher. Music supervision, orchestrations, and incidental music are overseen by Kris Kukul, with additional arrangements by both Perfect and Kukul. Scenic design is by David Korins; costume design by William Ivey Long; lighting by Kenneth Posner; sound by Peter Hylenski; projection design by Peter Nigrini. Peter Nigrini also contributes to puppet design, while special effects are created by Jeremy Chernick. Hair, wig, and make-up design will add to the show’s supernatural atmosphere.

Producers have described the London staging as “a terrifyingly hilarious treat,” highlighting the show’s blend of comedy, spookiness and theatrical spectacle. The West End premiere comes following a concluding U.S national tour and a recent Broadway run, giving producers the opportunity to bring the show to London audiences at last.

Full cast details have not yet been announced, but excitement is already building. With its mix of visual effects, ghostly thrills and dark comedy, Beetlejuice: The Musical looks set to become one of the must-see musicals in London in 2026.
