Sadie Sink, widely recognised for her breakout role in Stranger Things, is set to make her highly anticipated West End debut as Juliet in a bold new production of Romeo and Juliet. The production will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre, with previews starting in mid-March and performances continuing into early June.

Sink will star opposite Noah Jupe, known from films such as A Quiet Place and Honey Boy, who takes on the role of Romeo in his first professional stage appearance. The pairing of two major screen talents brings a fresh dynamic to Shakespeare’s most famous love story, drawing significant attention from both theatre fans and younger audiences discovering the play for the first time.

Acclaimed director Robert Icke leads the production, promising a contemporary, emotionally charged interpretation of the classic tragedy. Icke has described Romeo and Juliet as an explosive work filled with urgency, passion and the intensity of young love — themes he plans to highlight with a modern visual style and a fast-paced rhythm.

The creative team includes some of the industry’s most respected artists: Hildegard Bechtler designing sets and costumes, Jon Clark overseeing lighting, Tom Gibbons creating the sound design, and Ash J. Woodward crafting video elements. Together, they are shaping a production that blends traditional text with modern theatre craftsmanship.

Sink has expressed her excitement about joining London’s theatre community and embracing the challenge of Shakespeare, calling this opportunity a dream she’s long hoped for. With two rising stars, an acclaimed director and a revitalised approach to a timeless story, this staging of Romeo and Juliet is already being tipped as one of the West End’s standout events of the year.
