Les Misérables is welcoming new stars to the barricades next month, with Cameron Mackintosh confirming fresh casting for the long-running West End production at the Sondheim Theatre. The updates bring a mix of familiar names and exciting new faces to one of theatre’s most iconic shows, as it continues its celebrated London run.
From 2 February 2026, Harry Hepple will take over the role of Thénardier, with Lizzie Bea joining as Madame Thénardier. The mischievous couple are among the musical’s most entertaining characters, bringing comic bite to the drama of revolutionary France. Also joining the company is Jess Folley, a WhatsOnStage Award nominee, who will step into the role of Eponine, one of the show’s most emotionally powerful parts.
In another key casting highlight, Lucie Jones will return as Fantine from 19 January to 11 April 2026. Her return is expected to be a major draw for audiences, with Fantine’s storyline remaining one of the most heartbreaking and memorable arcs in the musical.
The new cast members will join a strong existing company, including Ian McIntosh as Jean Valjean and Sam Oladeinde as Javert. Also featured are Thiago Phillip Felizardo as Marius, Joe Griffiths-Brown as Enjolras and Izzi Levine as Cosette, supported by an extensive ensemble bringing the world of Les Misérables to life each night.
Based on Victor Hugo’s novel, Les Misérables is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, with lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and additional material by James Fenton. The current West End production is directed by James Powell and Laurence Connor, with design inspired by Hugo’s artwork and a creative team spanning lighting, sound, projections and musical supervision.
The production is currently booking through to October 2026, continuing to prove that Les Misérables remains a must-see West End experience.
