Grace Pervades Confirms Full West End Cast

Published Mon, 16 March 2026

The full company has been announced for the West End run of Grace Pervades, the new play by David Hare starring Ralph Fiennes and Miranda Raison. The production will transfer to the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a limited season running from 24 April to 11 July 2026.

Fiennes and Raison will lead the cast as legendary Victorian theatre figures Henry Irving and Ellen Terry. The pair previously starred in the play’s premiere at Theatre Royal Bath, where the production attracted strong attention for its exploration of one of the most famous partnerships in theatre history. Their performances bring to life the creative and personal relationship between two performers who shaped the stage during the late nineteenth century.

Joining them in the West End are Ruby Ashbourne Serkis and Jordan Metcalfe, who reprise their roles as Ellen Terry’s children, Edith Craig and Edward Gordon Craig. Both figures went on to become influential artists in their own right, and the play follows their ambitions alongside the complicated lives of their parents.

The wider cast includes Youness Bouzinab, Giulia Innocenti, Tom Kanji, Harriet Leitch, Guy Paul, Chris Porter, Maggie Service, Saskia Strallen and Kathryn Wilder. Katherine Liley and Sam Perry also appear as part of the ensemble.

Written by acclaimed playwright David Hare, Grace Pervades looks at the powerful artistic legacy of Irving and Terry, whose work defined Victorian theatre and influenced generations of performers who followed. The play examines the passion, ambition and rivalry that shaped their careers while also highlighting the creative achievements of Terry’s children.

Directed by Jeremy Herrin, the production features a creative team including set designer Bob Crowley, costume designer Fotini Dimou and composer Paul Englishby.

Following its successful premiere in Bath, the West End transfer will give London audiences the chance to experience this ambitious drama that brings the world of Victorian theatre vividly back to the stage.
